Luscious Lagos Holidays
A beautiful waterfront, amazing sandy beaches and lots of restaurants and bars are the main characteristics of Lagos holidays. The locals provide warm hospitality that keeps people coming back to the Western Algarve resort every year.
Lagos is a holiday destination that will appeal to anyone, whether you want to laze on the beach all day, participate in water sports, or explore the rest of the region. There is plenty to keep you occupied by day and night, so Lagos is perfectly suited to couples, families, or even groups of friends looking for some fun in the sun.
Accomodation in Lagos
The accommodation offered on Lagos holidays is split into the areas, with livelier hotels located on the squares and among the cobbled streets in the centre of the town. These hotels are located close to the nightlife, so they are perfect if you want to party til the early hours.
Closer to the beach, you’ll find more traditional family friendly hotels and apartments. Along with the convenience of being close to the waterfront, these hotels have more activities and amenities such as pools and clubs to keep the kids occupied. If you can get a hotel close to the Meia Praia you will be near probably the best beach in the resort.
Plenty of Activities
Unsurprisingly, the beaches are the main draw for people in holiday in Lagos. The famous sandy coastline of the Algarve is the perfect place to kick back and relax on a sunbed. Make sure you bring a couple of good books!
Culture vultures will be right at home in Lagos as the town is steeped in history. Bordered by Roman walls, the narrow cobbled streets wind through the town as plazas and majestic churches seem to appear every few hundred metres. It makes for a lovely afternoon to sit on a plaza with a coffee and watch Portuguese life going by.
Sports lovers will also be entertained on a Lagos holiday. The Algarve is obviously famous for golf and Lagos doesn’t let the region down. There are several superb courses in the area, including Boavista and Palmares, which should prove a test for even the keenest golfer. Lagos is in a great location to explore the rest of the region and we recommend hiring a bike for a few hours to do just that. Towns that are easily reachable are Alvor, Praia da Rocha and Praia do Vau.
A current, valid Passport is necessary for all visitors to Portugal. Irish citizens do not need a visa.
