Discover Holidays to Benalmadena
A busy resort on the south coast of mainland Spain in the region of Costa del Sol, Benalmadena got a facelift a few years back with the introduction of a marvellous marina area called Puerto Marina. Less well known, it seems that Benalmadena grew up in the shadow of Torremolinos, but it’s very much a great resort in its own right. It’s easy to walk between the resorts as the promenade links the two. Close to the amazing golf courses on the Costa too, Benalmadena holidays have a little of everything. Maybe a bit closer to the “real” Spain, there are a few villages behind the resort which are still very local – Arroyo de la Miel and Benalmadena Pueblo – life is not much bothered by tourists up here.
Benalmadena has a sandy beach, Mediterranean waters and an amazing sunshine record for almost the whole year. Just next door to Torremolinos, walk between the two on the promenade, then double back to stroll the perfect marina of Puerto Marina. This was just the addition to the resort’s facilities that Benalmadena needed and Puerto Marina is a huge attraction even for Spaniards on holiday. Built in Moorish style, very fashionable apartments surround the marina and super restaurants, shops and cafes line the edge. The architecture on Benalmadena holidays is gorgeous, the pink sandstone reflects in the water and the yachts bathe in the glow. Meanwhile, back on the beach, families and couples relax in the sun, bathe and pedalo till the sun goes down.
