Charming Corralejo Holidays

Corralejo is Fuerteventura’s largest resort. It is situated at the northern tip of the island and dominates the holiday scene. A marvellous expanse of gold sandy beach (approx. 3 km long), just outside the resort centre is the centrepiece of Corralejo holidays. Although it is the main holiday resort on Fuerteventura, Corralejo still has many reminders that this was once a very modest and humble fishing town. The old harbour front is charming and the seafood and fish restaurants are both utterly traditional and delicious.

The heart of Corralejo is quite pretty and there are plenty of narrow streets and winding alleyways with a good selection of tourist bars, open air cafes and local restaurants. The great beach is the focus for daytime and there are plenty of watersports activities to cater for every taste. Evenings are low key and the emphasis is on casual dining with relaxed entertainment options. Ideal for families and couples, holidays in Corralejo are based on sun and sea and maybe a bit of surfing! For something a little different, take a day trip over to Lanzarote (ferries run regularly from the marina) or visit Lobos Island, just off the coast. The National Park of Corralejo is like wandering in the Sahara as the sand dunes are enormous, so this is definitely worth a look.

A current, valid Passport is necessary for all visitors to Spain and the Canary Islands. Irish citizens do not need a visa.

Go windsurfing. Take a ferry ride to the little island of Lobos or go to Lanzarote – another Canary Island! Visit Baku waterpark for some family fun. Take a catamaran ride and enjoy the Atlantic waves. Visit the nearby resorts of Caleta de Fuste or Costa de Antigua.
