Playa de las Americas is a resort on Tenerife’s south coast that hardly needs an elaborate presentation! Beloved of the Irish visitor, Las Americas has a great sunshine record and, as a winter retreat, it’s hard to beat. From the lofty heights of the Torviscas area to the seafront promenade, the resort has a gigantic choice of smart restaurants, local eateries, fast food joints, music bars, sports bars and Irish pubs. Boredom is not on the agenda here. The volcanic black sand beach is huge and has watersports, beach bars and bodies a bathing! Playa de las Americas holidays also play home to some golf – you may not be aware of this, but it is becoming a really popular golf destination. The local (once a fishing village) end of the resort, Los Cristianos is the perfect place to unwind with delicious food (fish and seafood specialities), then walk the promenade which connects the two resorts.
